Boxycharm June 2018
As a lover of beauty products and getting things in the mail, I am obviously a huge fan of subscription boxes. I’ve taken a long break from them for various reasons – they will no longer ship to Canada, I wasn’t excited about the products I was getting, it was too expensive, etc. I’ve been wanting to try Boxycharm for a while, but was hesitant because at $21 USD, plus $5 shipping to Canada, the price was double that of some of the boxes I’ve tried in the past, and sinking that much money into something without really knowing what I was getting was anxiety-inducing. But in June, Boxycharm turned off their waiting list, and whoever wanted to purchase the box could do so. There was one product in the box that really caught my eye and led me to finally take the leap.
Here’s what I got in my June box:
Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe Vol. 1 Palette – $28 USD – The moment I saw this palette I knew I needed it. It is so stunning, features unique shades, but is completely wearable. The price of the box, plus shipping works out to be the same price of the palette alone. And because Alamar Cosmetics is an indie brand, I figured shipping to Canada wouldn’t be cheap. This palette did not disappoint. I am obsessed with it. It is so beautiful that sometimes I take it out just to look at it.
Ofra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Verona – $20 USD – After hearing so much about Ofra’s products, I was really excited to get this in the box. At first, I wasn’t too sure about the colour, but now I love it. It is a gorgeous pinky-browny-nude that is completely unique in my collection. The formula is one of my favourite I’ve ever tried of liquid lipsticks.
Luxie Face Brush Set – $43 USD – I love getting brushes in subscription boxes. These face brushes are fantastic and I love them. So soft, so nice, ohhhh yeahhhh.
Battington Silk Lashes in Monroe – $28 USD – I truly never wear false lashes, so I would never spend over $30 CAD on a pair. The packaging of these are nice, and will sit on my vanity. I’m just not going to get a ton of use out of them.
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream Travel Size – $10 USD – I didn’t get why everyone talked about this product like it was a gift from baby jesus himself. I thought it HAD to be overhyped – that was until I got it. Holy shit it really is scented by heaven’s angels. It smells so good. I bought a larger size and a body spray. Dammit, consumerism, you win again.
JonteBlue Eyeliner Pencil in Black – $5 USD – It’s always nice to have a black eyeliner kicking around. This just isn’t a particularly remarkable black eyeliner.
I was very impressed with my first Boxycharm. The total value of the box was $134 USD (and because the brushes are in a kit, and on their own they sell for more the value is much more than that.) I loved this subscription box and will definitely get it in the future. If you want to subscribe to Boxycharm, use my referral link here.
