Shows I promise I’m going to watch this year
A lot of the time people recommend shows to me, I just know I’m not going to watch them. I’m sorry, it’s not you, it’s me. I just have a particular taste, and that taste is mostly calming British shows. I’m just know in my heart that I’m not going to like a lot of show that are popular. I’m never going to watch Game of Thrones.
But here are a few shows that I promise I am going to watch this year. At some point. Maybe.
Schitt’s Creek – This show is Canadian, so I have to like it or I will get my passport revoked. I have heard nothing but great things about Schitt’s Creek. I know I’m going to love it, it’s just getting started that is the hard part.
Catastrophe – I’ve been saying I’m going to watch this British comedy for years. So long in fact that it has premiered, had a number of successful seasons, and aired their series finale before I ever watched a single episode. 2019 is the year my friends.
Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat – This was recommended to me by a friend as THE next best food show. And I was sold at food. It’s four episodes. I can handle that. Each episode covers Samin Nosrat’s idea that there are four necessary elements of a great dish.
Derry Girls – I’m excited about this one. This checks all of my TV boxes. British. Comedy. Stars women. People seem to love it. I think this will be the first place I start on this list.
Sharp Objects – After all of the talk about Sharp Objects, I decided to read the book. I thought that, like when I read Big Little Lies, I would be satisfied with just reading the book and wouldn’t really care to watch the series. I was wrong. I cannot wait to watch this and see how such a cool book plays out on screen.
