Cheer Cheer is the latest Netflix show to take the world by storm. I knew I would like it – I love cheerleading stuff, although I was never one. It just takes me a while to get into these things. I am really enjoying it […]

We are in the throes of December, which means a very holiday/wintery version of What I’ve been watching this week!! Elf Elf is my all-time favourite movie. Sorry! That’s just the way it is!! In my heyday I would watch it 3 or 4 times […]
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
I finally got around to watching the finale of Drag Race UK. I thought it was a great finale, and I thought the winner was very deserving of the title. I thought both queens in the final two could have easily won the competition.
I really loved this season. It made me remember why I loved Drag Race in the first place. It was such a refreshing watch. The queens were so supportive of each other throughout the season. The lack of drama was nice. The challenges were fun, but felt quintessential Drag Race with a classic British twist.
Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2
This came up in my YouTube recommended videos, because of how much Top Model I’ve been watching lately. I just love Top Model, I can’t help it. I’ve really been liking this international version.
Richard Osman’s House of Games
I love this show so much. We’ve watched another couple weeks of it. It’s a trivia show, but it’s pretty funny too. Check it out if you like British Panel Shows.
Richard Osman’s House of Games We discovered Richard Osman’s House of Games this week through my YouTube recommendations, and we are OBSESSED. It’s a daily show with 4 celebrities that battle it out over 5 rounds of quiz questions. The questions have a different spin […]
Taskmaster The 9th season of my favourite show has come to an end. The cast this season was perfection. They had incredible chemistry together, which made the studio segments really fun to watch. This charm had been sort of missing the last few seasons, so […]
I was away this past week, so I expected to not even write a post because I didn’t think I’d be watching much television. I don’t know why I thought that, I love watching tv! Our AirBNB had an excellent selection of channels, featuring many British ones. Our favourite channel we found was called Challenge which was all quiz and game shows. Here are all the British game shows we had the absolute fortune of watching this week.
The Weakest Link
I used to watch the American version of this show when it was on, but I haven’t seen it in years. These episodes were definitely old. I don’t know if the way the host was talking to the contestants would fly these days.
I thought the concept of this show was really cool. It starts with a pool of 30 contestants answering multiple choice questions. The three answers included the correct answer, a wrong answer, and an impossible answer. The impossible answer is something that cannot be correct (not written by the same author, not on the same continent, wrong decade, etc.). If you answer the Impossible answer, you’re out of the game for the day. There’s a final round and stuff. Whatever, it was fun.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Another classic show. We had fun watching this. I haven’t watched it in years and years and years.
This was my favourite of the shows we watched. A team works to build up money by answering trivia questions against “the chaser”. If you get caught, you don’t get the money. In the episodes we watched, no one won! I’m really looking forward to watching more of The Chase.
Would I Lie to You?
I had seen this show a number of times, but it’s a great watch. It’s a panel show that features British comedians and other famous people. They give facts about themselves and the other team has to guess whether or not it’s a lie.
Pointless is kind of the opposite of Family Feud. You want to give the least popular answer for a particular category. I want to watch this one again too.
Drag Race UK RuPaul’s Drag Race has finally made it across the pond. The first two episodes have been a lot of fun. I am biased because I feel like a British (or Northern Irish!) accent makes everything better. I think the cast has been […]
Taskmaster Series 9 The new season of Taskmaster has just begun! I know I keep saying this, but Taskmaster is truly the best and funniest show I’ve ever seen. Sure, I have the tendency to be hyperbolic, but I mean it! This new season is […]
Love Island Series 5
The latest series of Love Island may have recently ended in its native UK, but it has just arrived to my favourite streaming service, hayu. After a fun month of watching the US version of the show, I am all in. I really like the first few episodes of every season where everyone is getting to know each others and the relationship dynamics are constantly shifting.
I’ve heard that this season is one of the best ones, so I’m excited to get into it!
Taskmaster Series 5
The new series starts in just a few weeks, and watching this show always puts me in a good mood. We’ve been putting on episodes of series 5 each night and I forgot how good this season is. The cast is so, so funny and every episode makes me laugh so hard.
Southern Charm Season 2
I’m still waiting to fall in love with Southern Charm, but it’s still just not happening. The drama that’s happening is not really that fun, it’s just kind of depressing. There are a couple cast members I really like – Cameran and Landon, and it doesn’t make sense to me why they’re hanging out with any of the other. Thomas and Whitney give me the creeps, and Kathryn just makes me very sad. Anyway, I’m going to keep watching because who knows why, I just am okay.
Taskmaster I am so glad that my favourite show is back. In the 9th season of Taskmaster, 5 comedians/presenters/general brits on tv come together to complete tasks and then watch each other complete the tasks. Sounds not great in concept, but holy F is it […]
