We are in the throes of December, which means a very holiday/wintery version of What I’ve been watching this week!! Elf Elf is my all-time favourite movie. Sorry! That’s just the way it is!! In my heyday I would watch it 3 or 4 times […]

We’re a couple weeks into the new Survivor season, and I’ve been enjoying it so far. I didn’t have high hopes about the Island of the Idols twist. And I’m still not totally on board with it. The cast so far has been really amazing and fun, and I don’t want to have to waste a whole lot of time on a weird twist. I am now more hopeful about how things are going to play out. For more of my thoughts on this season so far, check out my appearance on the RHAP Survivor BnB podcast.
Ex on the Beach US
I don’t think the US version of the show is nearly as good as the OG British version, but this season has been pretty good. I think we waste a lot of time on crush weeks. I also wish we could see the departure of a few more of the original singles, because a lot of the exes are exes of exes anyway. I think there has been ample drama, and everyone is getting involved.
Teen Mom 2
I more or less gave up on Teen Mom OG. I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. I am still giving Teen Mom 2 a chance. With the exit of Jenelle and the entrance of Jade, it gave the show the little boost it needed. This season so far has been okay. The biggest point of drama comes from someone who isn’t even a part of the cast – Leah’s sister who, in the process of getting her divorce, got pregnant from a hook up in Costa Rica. The fun never ends!!
Love Island US I’ve been having a great time watching Love Island US. It has really surpassed any expectations I had for the show. Which were very few. I’m sorry! I was skeptical that CBS wouldn’t completely screw up a show that worked so well. […]
Bon Appetit Gourmet Makes videos I was recently introduced to a series of videos in which Former Bon Appetit Senior Food Editor, Claire Saffitz, attempts to make gourmet versions of your favourite junk food. As many of you may know, I love food television. I […]
This week was mostly spent catching up on all of my shows that I missed while I was away, plus continuing what is now a full-on binge of every season of Top Chef.
Top Chef Season 2 & 3 – I finished up season 2 of Top Chef early this week. I enjoyed Padma’s first season hosting. I didn’t really feel like the best competitor won though. As douchey as Marcel was during the season, I thought he was the more interesting and consistent chef than the winner.
I loved season 3. I thought the cast was so much fun and there were a lot of people I was rooting for. I thought this season had a deserving winner, even though they weren’t my favourite throughout the season. I loved seeing the origin story of Casey and CJ, two cheftestants that I enjoyed in more recent seasons.
The Bachelor – They’re sure getting a lot of mileage out of the ‘jumping over the fence’ promo, aren’t they? We’ve just finished the sixth week of the show and we’ve seen the jump in the ‘coming up on’ every single week! WHEN IS THE JUMP?
I’m starting to warm up to this season. I quite like Colton as The Bachelor. He’s genuine as the lead, and it never feels like he’s trying to produce anything. I am enjoying the women too, some of them are a bit bland, but that’s every season. I was disappointed to see a few of my favs go in the last few weeks. Listen to my thoughts about The Bachelor on the Reality TV Rhap Up.
Ex on the Beach – I felt like Farrah had overstayed her welcome and wasn’t adding anything to the show anymore so I was glad to see her go. I’m not loving this season as much as the first one. I’m not sure what it is that I can’t connect. Possibly because there are so few relationships forming.
The Challenge – The pre-season promos of The Challenge got me really hyped up. I felt like the premiere lived up to that feeling, and I’m excited to see where this goes.
Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2018 – This is really what I wait for each year – comedians answering questions about what went on each year and occasionally take breaks to drink wine. This year’s panel featured David Mitchell, Michelle Wolf, Claudia Winkleman, Mo […]
