The Dove Body Wash Mousse was sent to me by Dove and Influenster complimentary for reviews. I’m always down to try a new body wash, so I was looking forward to receiving the Dove Body Wash Mousse in the mail. The one I got is […]
I received these products complimentary from Influenster and Kat Von D for review. I was looking forward to trying a new high-end foundation. I don’t often buy high-end foundation unless it’s on sale, so it was great that this one was coming to my door. […]
I’ve never been particularly committed to any brand or kind of shampoo. I only wash my hair about 3 times a week, so it takes me a while to get through a bottle of shampoo. But I’m always excited about trying new hair products. I just don’t get to very often because it takes me so long to finish things.
As I was badly needing a haircut, my hair was feeling dry and lifeless. It was almost as if my hair prayers (hayers?) had been answered when I opened the door to find the OGX Liquid Pearl Luminescent Voxbox from Influenster on my porch.
In this box I received a shampoo and conditioner that promises to ‘smooth hair and reflect light and luster’ and makes for ‘silky, smooth strands that are illuminated with vibrancy to reveal your inner mermaid’ with pearl extract and sea kelp.
The shampoo was nice enough, but it didn’t blow me away or anything. It did leave my hair smoother, but I didn’t find it more vibrant or anything. I didn’t even realize that was a claim until I read the bottle just now for the paragraph above. The scent didn’t do it for me. I don’t even know how to describe it, but it was kind of odd.
I wouldn’t run out and buy this shampoo again. I’m not even sure if I will finish. I have other shampoos in my shower that I would reach for first.
These products were sent to me complimentary for review from Influenster Canada and OGX

It’s no surprise that I love food. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I love cooking and more so eating. I was super excited to receive the Hello Flavour Holiday Voxbox from Influenster complimentary for review. The box came with a few […]
Mascara is the underrated hero of make up. It’s never the most exciting product, but if you’re not wearing it, someone will inevitably tell you that you look kind of tired. I love trying out new mascaras. Even more so, I love getting mascaras sent to me by Influenster to try out for free.
Here’s my thing with mascara – I don’t like high end mascaras. Not that I don’t ACTUALLY like them, but like, you kind find perfectly good, if not great, mascaras at the drugstore for a fraction of the price.
What I look for in a mascara:
- Lengthening – I want long, lucious bambi lashes, okay?
- Non-clumpy – I don’t love the spidery lash look on me
- Easy to get off at the end of the day – I like when my mascara stays on through the day, but it comes off easyish at night because I am lazy and usually give up and end up with a raccoon-eyes-look reminiscent of my grade 8 graduation make up
- No-Transfer – again, trying to not rock the raccoon eyes thing, because I cannot pull it off like they can
- Not a necessity, but I do prefer a rubber bristle wand
Okay, anyway, I got the new Revlon Volumazing Mascara in the mail, complimentary for review from Influenster and Revlon. This mascara promises:
- No smudging or flaking for up to 24 hours
- Ultra-creamy, amplifying formula infused with nourishing Olive Oil for a soft, fanned out look
- Turn-it-up brush with a curved centre and wavy filaments to hug each last while holding the optimal amount of each product
First things first – for the most part, Influenster sends out full-sized products. This is a delxue sample at best. Which is FINE, a free mascara is a free mascara, but something to note.
I’ve been wearing it for a few days straight and my verdict – it is a perfectly fine mascara. It’s nothing mind-blowing. I don’t find my lashes look particularly lengthened, thickened, or nourished. It does come of easily at the end of the day which I appreciate. It’s just like, a decent, not super special mascara. From Revlon alone I prefer the Mega Multiplier mascara. This is a mascara I will definitely keep using. It’s nice for travel. It’s also good for the days where I want to look like I’m not wearing make up, but I definitely AM wearing make up, you know. Anyway, I wouldn’t rebuy this once it ran out and I don’t think I would recommend this to you, there are 5000 other perfectly decent and better mascaras at the drug store for you to try.

I’ve never been much of a perfume gal. I always forget about it, and a lot of the times it gives me a headache. BUT when I heard about the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner perfumes, I was dying to try them. I’m a sucker for great packaging.
Imagine my surprise when I come home to the Saint and Sinner VoxBox that Influenster sent me complimentary for review. Booooooy was I excited for these. I opened the box immediately.
Saint is described as “soft, alluring, and dreamy, this gourmand fragrance sweetens a bouquet of jasmine and tiaré flower with notes of mandarin, caramel, and sparkling Mirabelle plum. Vanilla, sandalwood, and creamy musk build to the romance of the perfume”
Sinner is described as “dark, sultry, and empowering, this enticing fragrance sweetens a bouquet of jasmine and orange blossom with notes of vanilla, mandarin, and Mirabelle plum. Spicy cinnamon envelops white florals at the heart of the fragrance, while base notes of vetiver, patchouli, and wood form the deeper, darker nuances.”
I definitely gravitate more towards Saint. I find it lighter and less overwhelming, but don’t get me wrong, I really like Sinner too.
I think I found my signature scent in Saint!
