Well folks, another VIB sale at Sephora has arrived. It comes at the perfect time to start some Christmas shopping. Most of the gift sets are out already as well, so you can get a lot of value with those. With an extra little discount, […]
Sephora, our higher end beauty mecca, is infamous for having very few sales. Sorry if you fell in love with a $30 mascara but can’t justify paying that every time the suggested 3 month usage period is up. Luckily, Sephora does have a sale in […]
It’s January. My skin has been shit. I needed some new things to hopefully make my skin less shit, so I paid a visit to our saviour, Sephora with a gift card in hand. Well, the online version of Sephora. It’s January so I try not to go outside.
Here’s what I got:
First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay – I’ve tried this cleanser before, and I really liked it. It’s a bit pricier than I usually go for, but it worked really well. Whenever I have a break out, I use this and it calms my skin down.
Sephora Collection Aloe Vera Sleeping Mask – I haven’t used this yet but I’ve had good luck with the Sephora Collection sleeping masks in the past (and all of their skincare products). The Aloe Vera Mask promises to be quenching and replenishing which I could really use right now. I can usually get 3 or 4 uses out of one sleeping mask, so for $5 it’s a great value.
Morphe M441 Pro Firm Blending Crease Brush – I’ve enjoyed the few Morphe brushes I’ve gotten, and I am excited that they’re now available on the Sephora website. This is my favourite brush I’ve used from Morphe. I thought it might be too stiff at first. I think this is the perfect tool for a one brush eye look. It blends nicely and I am happy with this brush.
Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier Primer – I threw this in the order to bring me up to the free shipping mark, and it might be my favourite buy of the order. I love products that have more than one use. This can be used as a primer, a foundation mixer, or a highlighter. I like it for all of these things. There is some shimmer in it, but I don’t find I look like a Cullen out in the sun when wearing it. As a highlighter, it’s a really nice, subtle highlight. I’m so glad I got this, and when i eventually use it up, I’m going to be so disappointed when I go to replace it and it’s been discontinued.
AHAVA Renewal Peel – I’ve never tried any kind of peel before so I was a little nervous. From what I understand, this was a pretty gentle one. It definitely made my skin feel softer. There was enough in this package to get a couple uses out of it.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer Sample Size – This was one of the most-hyped products of 2018 and I’ve been wanting to try it. But at $50 a bottle, it’s hard to justify buying something I’m not sure if I am going to like. So when a deluxe sample was available with a code, I knew I had to try it. I love this. It’s very moisturising, which makes makeup go over it nicely. I don’t know if I will buy a full-size, but I will continue to enjoy this mini.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Do Me Baby – This is probably one of the worst names of a lipstick I’ve ever seen. I got this as a 100 point perk. The Nars lip pencils were the Sephora birthday gift a couple years ago and I liked them quite a bit. And I love a mini lipstick. This colour is described as a “chestnut rose”. It’s a gorgeous dark, nude pink that I am going to get a lot of use out of.
