Cheer Cheer is the latest Netflix show to take the world by storm. I knew I would like it – I love cheerleading stuff, although I was never one. It just takes me a while to get into these things. I am really enjoying it […]
Bienvenue and aloha to yet another season of The Bachelorette. We welcome in Hannah B as our 15th Bachelorette. After last week’s special, I found myself really looking forward to this new season. I thought Hannah’s first night as the lead was pretty solid. She had fun, but called out Scott when he needed to be called out. Of course that moment felt very produced, but not from Hannah’s end. I can’t see her faking anything for the cameras. I’m pretty excited about where this season is going to take us. After listening to a great interview with Chris Harrison where he calls this one of his favourite seasons ever, I’m even more pumped.
You can check out our Bachelorette premiere podcast here.
First of all, big thanks to the Paradise Hotel twitter account for reminding me to watch.
So I did get around to watching the first couple episodes. There is 3 episodes a week, which is QUITE the commitment. I didn’t watch the first iteration of Paradise Hotel. But from what I understand it is a pretty similar format to the original. It also has a pretty similar format to Love Island, which a lot of people have commented on.
It’s a good summer show, but it’s not the best thing I’ve ever watch. I wasn’t expecting world class television or anything, but there isn’t quite as much charm as Love Island. Maybe it’s because I love a British accent. The cast is fine. Like with Love Island, I think it’s going to take me a bit to get into it. I’m going to keep watching, but I don’t think I’ll be upset if I miss an episode.
the 38th season has come and gone. I can’t believe how long I’ve been watching Survivor. I can’t say this season was my favourite. I’d probably say it was in my bottom tier, if I had to make a ranking. I could never really get into the season, which is a shame because I really liked the cast. I have yet to watch the preview for season 39, but I’m hoping it’s a little more fun. Read the rest of my thoughts on this season of Survivor here.
What an incredibly weird season of Survivor. Sure, 39 seasons and 19 years in they have to do some things to keep the show fresh and exciting. And Edge of Extinction was textbook ‘throwing something against the wall to see if it sticks’. I don’t […]
The Amazing Race The Amazing Race came back a couple weeks ago after a loooong hiatus. For their 31st season they decided to have a battle of the CBS reality shows. Favourite teams from previous seasons of The Amazing Race plus new teams made up […]
With me getting some casual knee surgery last week, I had quite a bit of time to watch tv. What makes that different than any other week you ask? Well, pretty much nothing, except my food network marathons were much longer than usual.
This week was a big one. Not only was it the merge episode, which is always a turning point in the season, but it was also when it was revealed to those still in the game what the Edge of Extinction really is. It was a fun episode, but I’m still not quite hooked on this season. Listen to me chat about this episode of Survivor with Rob Cesternino on RHAP here.
This Netflix docu-series was recommended to me by my brother. It follows Chef David Chang as he discovers different iterations of our favourite foods. I am really enjoying this show, but I don’t think it’s a an easy show to binge. Which is fine! It gives me more time to enjoy it. I love the way the stories are told, and the editing that goes into each episode. It is a fun exploration into foods we know, love, and probably don’t think about with much depth.
Guys Big Bite
Hi, my name is Haley Strong and I just might be the world’s biggest Guy Fieri apologist. I spent more or less an entire day of watching Guy cook food in his great backyard kitchen with some of his Food Network friends and I LOVED IT.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11
We’re a couple weeks deep into this season of Drag Race and I’m not quite sold on it yet. There are a couple queens that I am loving, but I don’t know! I don’t really know why I’m not loving this season, but I did enjoy this latest episode. I love a ball, and I think the Monster Ball was a cool twist that gave the queens the chance to use a lot of imagination in their looks.
The Office Christmas episodes – Since we’ve seen an influx of instagram posts about what episode number in the season the holiday episodes of all your favourite shows are, it has lead to me watching the Christmas episodes of The Office because it was easy […]
Hello, and welcome back to the things I have been watching! This is what I have been watching this week.
Survivor – I don’t think I am not alone in that I went into this season with very low expectations. Everyone seems pretty down on it and not overly excited for this cast and premise. I’m glad Survivor has said ‘lol F u’ to us as an audience, because 3 episodes in and I am really enjoying it. This week was particularly fun, even though it seemed like off the jump, that Jeremy could be headed home, it was still a fun path to that result. Sorry, spoiler alert I guess.

Teen Mom – I haven’t watched Teen Mom in a looong time. Probably since I was a teen myself. I have kept up with the women from afar – mostly in Cosmopolitan recaps and texts from my friend Jessica. I was brought back in because I really like Cheyenne, one of the new cast members. She was one of my favourites from her stint on Are You the One and The Challenge, so I wanted to watch it. It’s a good show to have on in the background. It’s amazing to see how much the women and the show has evolved. I love their use of breaking the fourth wall and talking to producers, and being meta by talking about the show.
Are You the One – Speaking of – this show is so dumb, yet I love it so much. I’m not going to lie, this has probably been my least favourite season so far. The fate button has changed the game for the worst, and I’m just not clicking with the cast. But a bad season of this, is still more interesting than a great season of Game of Thrones. (I am kidding. Probably. I don’t know, I’ve never seen it and I NEVER WILLLLLLLLLLLLL.) Anyway, it’s still appointment viewing for me.
Samantha Ravndahl – Testing out new products – So it’s a YouTube video and not a tv show, I don’t care, I still watched it. Sam has been making my favourite beauty videos for years. Her looks are stunning, and her videos are funny, yet informative. Thanks to her, I kind of can use gel and liquid eyeliner.
Greg Davies on the Graham Norton Show – Do you like watching Ryan Gosling giggle uncontrollably while a very tall man tells a story about accidentally wearing his mom’s underwear to work? Well than this is the clip for you.
I am, unsurprisingly, a tv junkie. If you are reading this, you probably are too. I figured it might be a fun series to tell you what I’ve been watching each week. Whaddya think? It doesn’t matter, here it is anyway. Survivor – It was […]
