Tarte Haul

I didn’t take advantage of many Boxing Day sales this year, but Tarte usually has a pretty good sale. They had free shipping and an extra 25% off their sale section. I also used ebates to get a little money back, so all in all it ended up being a pretty good deal.

Here’s what I got:

Limited-edition Tarteist Treats Color Collection – One thing Tarte does really well is kits. I love kits because I prefer to get smaller sizes of products, I never really go through make up that fast anyway. They make it easy to try a bunch of their products for a really good price – especially when you get it on sale!

This kit contains:

  • Tarteist PRO to go Palette – My holy grail palette is the Tartelette Tease Palette, the eyeshadows are great quality, and oftentimes, this is the only palette I will travel with. I’ve had my eye on this mini since it came out, but it’s hard to justify buying such a small palette for $30. In early December, this palette was one of Sephora’s weekly deals and it was on for half-price. I wasn’t quick enough to snap it up then. I really love this little palette. For only having 6 shades, I feel like I can make quite a few looks with it. I find the mattes are smooth and the shimmers are amazing. I am really happy with this palette.
  • Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara (Deluxe sample) – My favourite high-end mascara is Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes, so I wanted to try another one of Tarte’s mascaras. I don’t like to buy high-end mascaras, because I don’t feel like it’s ever THAT good to justify the price. I like this mascara, but I’m not obsessed with it. It’s very lengthening and it uses a rubber bristle brush – two things I like in a mascara. I find the packaging on the deluxe sample a little odd. It doesn’t twist close like normal packaging, and product really gunks up on the end of the wand.
  • Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in WCW (Deluxe sample) – I didn’t realize that this was going to be a gloss until I received the package. I was expecting one of the Creamy Matte Lip Paints. I was happy to get a gloss though, I tried these glosses before and they are really nice. The gloss is super pigmented, and it lasts pretty well for a gloss.

I’ve actually almost picked up the kit a few times at Sephora, but I’m glad I waited! I ended up getting this kit for about $13.50, which is a pretty insane deal. Even without the extra 25% off, $18 is really good for this kit. if this palette looks like something you’re interested in, I would definitely recommend this kit.

Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation in Light Neutral – I don’t tend to have a lot of foundations in my makeup collection. I find one I like and I stick to it. This foundation was on super sale on Boxing Day so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try something different. I’ve had fairly dry skin the last year or so, but am still prone to break outs so I went with the hydrating formula over the matte formula. I was expecting a dewy foundation, but it is not that. I still really like it and am super happy I bought it. Coverage is nice without it being too heavy. I would say it’s solidly a medium-coverage foundation. I thought I was going to love the doe foot applicator for a foundation but I am not a fan. I find I have to dip into the bottle a lot. The shade match is perfect for me, and the formula feels very nice.

I usually really like Tarte products, I haven’t found really anything that I absolutely hate. I do find that with ordering from the Tarte website itself, shipping tends to be a little slow. Once, I had a product break and because it was sold out it couldn’t be replaced, but they gave me my money back. I’ve been pretty satisfied with their customer service.

I really like everything I got in this order, and I will be regularly using every product.
